The Most Insane Milkshakes

I don’t think these milkshakes could get any more insane.

My Insane Kahlua Coffee Milkshake

Emily’s Insane Cotton Candy Milkshake

My friend Emily and I have been dreaming up these creations for weeks now. We have been admiring the Black Tap and their insane milkshakes. (I’m dying to try one of their burgers too). But since we’re not going to NYC anytime soon to try either, we decided to make our own insane treats at home.

Emily decided she wanted to do a cotton candy milkshake with a whimsical theme. I went with more of a grown-up approach and did a coffee theme. I piled on everything I could think of that went with coffee. I made mine lactose free.  I also added ice….that made it  like a frappuccino.

Each of these drinks start with a simple milkshake recipe.  We just chose to go all out with the toppings. But the shakes themselves are delicious, you can tone your own down by just adding some whipped cream to the top….. OR you can go completely crazy..and top your creation however you want.

I know you’re asking, “why make such outrageously, ridiculous milkshakes that you can’t possibly finish?”       My answer simply is….we ENJOYED every second of it!!!!

The Most Insane Milkshakes

Kahlua Coffee Milkshake {Dairy-Free}

Yields: 1 milkshake (in reality 3-4 milkshakes)

1 carton (1 quart) lactose free vanilla ice-cream

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup French press coffee, chilled

1 1/2 ounce Kahlua

1 cup ice

In the pitcher of a blender, (I used a Vitamix) add in 3 cups of ice-cream and the remaining ingredients; blend until smooth. If needed add a little more almond milk or ice-cream to get desired thickness.

Assembly: add one scoop of ice cream to each serving glass, pour the milkshake over the top.
